FAQs
WHAT IS QUARTZ?
Quartz is a naturally occurring mineral made up of silicon and oxygen (SiO₂), and it’s one of the most abundant materials found in the Earth’s crust. When used for countertops, however, “quartz” refers to an engineered stone; a man-made surface created by combining about 90–95% ground natural quartz crystals with resins, polymers, and pigments. IS QUARTZ BETTER THAN OTHER COUNTERTOPS?

HOW MUCH DO QUARTZ COUNTERTOPS COST?
The cost of your quartz countertop will depend on the amount of material and labor that is required, whether or not you go with edge profiles or not etc., however generally speaking for a typical 50 foot square kitchen, costs fall somewhere in the $3,800 - $9,000 range.
HOW LONG DO QUARTZ COUNTERTOPS TAKE TO INSTALL?
Since quartz is an engineered stone made from one of the hardest minerals on the planet, quartz countertops are built to last a lifetime, typically 25 to 50 years or more with proper care.
DO QUARTZ COUNTERTOPS NEED TO BE SEALED?
No, quartz countertops do not need to be sealed, which is one of their biggest selling features. Quartz is an engineered non porous surface, making it resistant to stains and moisture.
CAN QUARTZ COUNTERTOPS BE REPAIRED?
Yes, quartz countertops can be repaired. Minor chips, scratches, or surface damage can often be fixed using epoxy or resin fillers that match the color of your countertop.
However, large cracks or extensive damage are much harder to repair seamlessly. In some cases, countertop replacement may be the only solution, especially if the damage affects structural integrity or a highly visible area.
HOW TO CLEAN STAINS FROM QUARTZ COUNTERTOPS?
Since quartz is non-porous, cleaning stains is straightforward. You can basically follow the same rules as cleaning most other surfaces. Wipe up spills quick, use mild soap and water or a non-abrasive cleaner, rinse and dry. Related article: How To Clean Quartz Countertops
